Hopping from festival to festival is one of my favorite ways to spend summer… and with our days of dancing to pounding bass through warm summer nights coming to a close, there’s only one festival I have on my mind. Imagine Music Festival, Atlanta’s 3-day camping fest that boasts an incredible dance music lineup and epic production that’s made to wow their crowd. Designed to be an aquatic fairytale, Imagine promises attendees an immersive sensory experience beyond the music. From a groundbreaking water hologram show to circus performers, amusement rides, and art installations, Imagine is set to soon become one of the leading festivals in the US. Here’s why we’re obsessed with Imagine Festival, and why you should definitely join us for a weekend of fun August 26 – 28 in Atlanta!

1. That Lineup Tho

Imagine Fest has five stages featuring headliners that span the genres of dance music, from house and DnB to heavy-hitting bass acts. The main stage “Oceania”, which is surrounded by 3D holographic water fountains, opens Friday night with a back-to-back Caspa & Rusko set, Snails, Steve Angello, and Borgeous spinning til 3am. Saturday gets heavy with hard hitting acts Showtek, Adventure Club, Dillon Francis, and Zed’s Dead. Sunday is just insane on the bass, closing the festival with Borgore, Nero, and Excision.

Meanwhile, the live stage “Amazonia” features groovy acts including Papadosio, EOTO, Lotus, and Disco Biscuits Saturday. Then, gets even weirder on Sunday with some of my personal favorites, Michael Menert, Break Science, Polish Ambassador, Beats Antique, and Gramatik.

I’m going to have some serious scheduling conflicts, because this lineup is literally all heart-eyes-emojis and confetti canons to me. It’s absolutely insane. No matter what, I’m not going to miss Liquid Stranger and The Bloody Beetroots Friday, Showtek and Zed’s Dead Saturday, and Benny Benassi and Gramatik Sunday (and try to hop to Excision Sunday too… my biggest schedule conflict ever).

2. Explore New Music

Beyond the two main stages, Imagine has new artists and musical surprises around every corner. Wander around to the Disco Inferno, Aeria, and Atlantis Stages – plus the Silent Disco (til 6am) – to expand your horizons and find your new favorite artist spinning. You’ll likely find some lovely new beats to get down to, with sounds you might have never have heard before. I know I’m going to take a break from some of the hard-hitting mainstage acts to mellow out with some house at Disco Inferno and get weird with some Drum n Bass at Aeria. You don’t have to miss your favorites, but when you get a free space in your festival schedule, stop by some of the smaller spaces to treat yourself to something brand new (and potentially taste-changing).

3. Mind Blowing Production Quality that Gives Back

For the past two years, Imagine Festival has boasted high production quality, but this year, takes it to a new level. They’ve teamed up with AQUA, a hologram show that gives back to third world countries, which will be taking over the main stage with 3D water holograms. These mesmerizing, dancing water fountains will surround headliners to give a unique sensory experience to the crowd. Meanwhile, their crew will be around with buckets to collect pocket change, and all donations will go to a fund to help children in Ghana access clean water.

4. Camping Community

Camping festivals have a COMPLETELY different vibe than tests where you retreat to your hotel at night. It truly becomes a community, and you develop genuine, supportive relationships with the people camping around you. You’re really a tribe, coming together to celebrate music and vibes all weekend. Camping also means that the party never really stops, even once Silent Disco goes off at 6am. You’ll be partying long past when the sun comes up… and probably only sleeping once exhaustion hits.

At their new venue, the Atlanta Motor Speedway, Imagine has a capacity for over 100,000 people per day, and grass fields for the festival’s newly introduced camp grounds. There’s also onsite parking, over 100 RV spaces with full hook ups, and premium RV spaces overlooking the festival grounds – all designed to offer comfort and fun close to the main grounds. Be sure to get those camping and parking tickets separately on Imagine’s site!

5. Culture, Art, & Creativity

Imagine Fest has gone well beyond the traditional music plus production combo to offer a complete sensory experience that’ll delight your body and mind. This year, they’re incorporating circus troupes, performers, and dancers into their show, including aerial artists, bungee performers, living statues, and atmosphere artists. Throughout the festival grounds, you’ll find amusement park rides (including a ferris wheel to get the best view of the festival possible), unique atmospheres (including The Imagine Beach & Splash Pool), art installations, and a transformation village to chill out and learn in. There will also be a variety of workshops, classes, and ceremonies to expand your mind with. The full workshop, class, and yoga schedule is now available here http://www.imaginefestival.com/festival-workshops/. I’ll definitely be checking out the Sacred Geometry class, the Shamanic Sonic Ceremony, Psychedelics & Consciousness, and Creating Sacred Spaces workshops! With the wide array of available attractions, you can choose to be as immersive and engaged as you’d like.

6. Good People, Good Vibes

Among Imagine’s 100,000 18+ party-goers, you’ll find music lovers with chill vibes, party vibes, and all the variation in between. No matter what you’re looking for, you’ll meet amazing people – some of whom might become your best friend or boyfriend for the weekend… or beyond. Regardless, you’ll have an unforgettable time filled with euphoric memories you can’t necessarily tell mom about. Some of those friendships might last just the weekend… or even just an hour… while others could become long-term friends or festival friends you run into at shows all year long, and beyond. Whoever you meet, you’ll be sure to share some smiles and laughs under the moonlit sky with music filled air.
