With a song called “Vibrator”, it was only a matter of time before somebody designed sex toys in honor of heavy metal legends Motörhead. Lovehoney did just that, paying homage to two of their LPs with a line of band-branded vibrators. What else can you expect from a metal-inspired vibe, aside from awesome power? This ultra-sized bullet is easy to clean, comfortable to use, and intensely powerful. If you’re a fan of big, bold bullets (or simply heavy metal!) this toy is a total must-have.

Aesthetics

I didn’t immediately understand the rock band connection when I saw this toy, but I’m a sucker for vibrators that are made for insertion and mimic the design of a simple bullet, so I was eager to add another basic favorite to my collection. Upon taking the Overkill out of the packaging, though, I immediately got the reference. With a logo motif on the toy, it definitely makes a great, sexy gift for a fan of heavy metal band Motörhead, but this toy is so much more than a novelty, and non-fans will appreciate it as well.

The look and feel of the toy, aside from the logo design, is what I expect from larger bullets. Made from plastic with a chrome finish, it’s non-porous, easy to clean, and feels good on the skin and internally. It’s entirely smooth and easy to insert (although may be a little large for beginners). Overall, it’s a great standard vibrator design!

Power Chords

The power was everything I expected from a toy designed as an homage to a heavy metal band. With seven modes across various speeds and vibrations, the Overkill vibe is definitely geared towards those who crave strong, throbbing vibrations and pulses. I love a powerful toy that can bring me to an orgasm in seconds, and the Overkill definitely did its job there. That being said, if you’re a greedy girl like me who will keep playing for multiple rounds, that’s when this toy did get a little disappointing. The vibrations are strong to the point that they can become a little numbing. I can’t complain too much, though. If I’m able to have two or three orgasms in the span of five or ten minutes, my clit becoming overstimulated is to be expected.

The only other downside of the power, aside from the fact that it might be too much for those who prefer or are used to weaker vibrations, is that it’s uncomfortable to the rest of the body. When I’m using this toy, I can feel the vibrations throughout the entirety of my hand, even up to my elbow at times. It’s definitely distracting and not something I’m always in the mood to deal with. Still, if you’re looking for awesome power in a toy that’s very basic, essential, and affordable, definitely check the Overkill vibrator out.

The vibe modes are as follows:

  1. Pulse
  2. A regular pulse followed by a lower pulse
  3. Half wave – starts out low and becomes very intense, lasts longer than most half waves I’m used to
  4. A mid-level vibration
  5. A strong vibration
  6. A very strong vibration
  7. Two pulses followed by one strong, long pulse

The toy is operated using three AAA batteries. Twist off the base of the toy to insert them in the manner shown on the inserts, then twist the bottom back on to use the button to turn the toy on, switch between modes, and turn it off by pressing and holding the button.

Use

I’ve already touched on how much I enjoyed the power of this toy, and some of the downsides. To elaborate, the pointed tip is absolutely ideal for precise stimulation. While using externally, if you need stimulation with a wider range, the vibrations along the sides of the toy are just as intense as they are at the tip, which definitely is a bonus.

At seven inches long (six inches insertable) and 1.25 inches wide, the smooth, easy-to-clean Overkill has all of the components of a toy I generally enjoy for internal stimulation. The tip isn’t just great for hitting your clit just right, but it can get to your G-spot as well. The material is definitely inflexible, though this is generally something I can work around. However, when it comes to the vibrations, they were just to intense, even on the lowest mode, for me to find internal pleasure. (I’m typically a power lover, so this is saying something!) What felt like mid-level vibrations on the outside area of my lady bits felt too intense within my vagina. I’m sure the inflexibility is what added to this frustration. I couldn’t angle my body or the toy to have the power hit me exactly where I wanted it. I expected there to be a lack of movement, though, so this wasn’t necessarily a disappointment more than a general downside.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Awesome power
  • Beginners can use it, but power queens will fall head over heels
  • Precise stimulation
  • Various modes
  • Motörhead logo
  • Waterproof and easy to clean

Cons

  • Inflexible
  • Too powerful for some
  • If using for more than a few minutes, becomes clit-numbing

Conclusion

This toy definitely has its downsides, but I’m in love with it, imperfections and all. I would definitely recommend looking into all of Lovehoney’s Motörhead-themed toys if you’re a fan, and if you love power, specifically check the Overkill full-size vibrator out. (It’s available in a smaller bullet as well.) While the Overkill isn’t my new favorite, I will certainly whip it out next time I’m looking for a quick, intense orgasm.
