Since purchasing my first pair of kegel balls earlier this year, I’ve absolutely fallen in love with them. They feel amazing inside, not to mention really rev me up, leading to hot hook ups and amazing solo orgasms later in the day. On top of this, manufacturers, other buyers, and researchers suggest that kegel balls can help with orgasm intensity, vaginal strength and tightness, menstrual cramps, and bladder control. Since I was in search of a pair that came with more of a “training” aspect that my current set, I decided to give OVO L1 kegel balls a try.

The Set-Up

The L1 kegel balls are similar in size to most I’ve encountered, possibly a bit on the smaller side, and would be comfortable to insert, even for someone new to kegel balls. There are two sets of weighted balls, which is exactly what I was hoping for. The set comes with a silicone sleeve that you can insert the balls into, then insert into yourself – so you can have an retrieval string to easily remove them. The white sleeve is great – stretchy silicone that really hugs the balls and keeps them in place. The string is a bit stretchy for my tastes, making removal more difficult than I would prefer. However, you can grab closer up on the string for a better grip. The end of the string has a cute charm embedded in it, in a shade of light blue. Though you can insert the balls without using the sleeve, I have fears about getting kegel balls stuck inside me, so I always opt to use the cover.

The first set of balls weigh about 70 grams and are absolutely adorable. The balls are clear, and in the case of my particular toy, light blue in color. Inside each ball is a smaller ball that looks like a tiny golf ball which I found to be super cute. The second pair of balls are a bit heavier, weighing in at 90 grams, with a shiny metallic-looking plastic coating. They are not translucent. I’m definitely a bit skeptical about the coating on the heavier balls. In my brief experience with the toy so far, there’s definitely been a bit of scratching and chipping to the exterior. From my research of the brand, I trust that the materials are 100% body safe, but I could understand why someone wouldn’t feel comfortable due to the scratching of the material. Both of the balls have a smaller inner ball which rolls around, providing extra sensation – which can be incredibly pleasurable! This sensation is also good for strengthening your PC muscles.

Using the L1

The L1 balls came with the lighter, blue pair already inserted, so I tried those first. They were light and fun, about as heavy as my current set, and easy enough for me to function with throughout the hour or so I kept them inside of me. On occasion I got a little pleasure-jolt that left my squeezing my kegels together. The second pair were definitely stronger and left me more aware of their presence. With both pairs, I found that I was more aroused while playing with the toy inserted, and shortly after it had been removed. I love that there are two sets of balls that come with this toy, meaning beginners and more experienced users can get what they need. Though I haven’t tried it yet, I’m eager to see how it would feel to mix up the sensation of the weights and use two different balls at the same time.

Switching the balls in and out of the applicator was a bit tricky. The stretchy silicone is so tight-fitting that it’s a bit hard to work my fingers around the weights to get them into place. That being said, the tightness of the material leaves me feeling confident that they’re working well and won’t get dislodged. In order to clean the toy, remove the balls before cleaning, then use soap and warm water or your favorite toy cleaner.

Pros & Cons

Overall

I like OVO’s L1 so much that they’ve become my new favorite kegel balls. I think they’re worth their price and I’ll definitely be using them plenty in the future. I question their durability, though, since the plastic of the more weighted balls is a bit worn. However, plastic is a body-safe material, so with proper cleaning and care, these balls are made to last. Personally, I’m looking forward to experimenting with these adorable little weights more! Plus for the price, you really can’t beat this set!
