I really, really wanted to love the Tantus Duke.
I’ve loved nearly everything Tantus has sent me in the past – from their incredible Sport (a g-spot dildo), to their awesome thrusting Echo. I’ve loved their BDSM gear including paddles and gags. I’ve even gotten more adventurous with butt plugs, strap ons, and double penetration dildos!
But, something about the Duke just fell flat for me. It’s huge girth with a large head was very hard for me to insert, let alone thrust. It had very little texture aside from the head, and absolutely no curve. It was straight, flat, and all together a bit… boring. It’s still fabulously high-quality, and very well-made – but the design just wasn’t for me.
If you’re looking for a dildo that will be fabulous for a “fullness” or stretching feeling, this dildo would absolutely be a fabulous choice. Tantus toys are made with high-quality, premium silicone – and the straight, untextured design would be fabulous for thrusting if your vagina (or ass) is flexible enough to accommodate some extra girth. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who asked for my recommendation for a thick, easy, simple, large dildo. But for me, it just wasn’t right. My vagina is simultaneously scared and bored of Tantus.

Daunting Design
Tantus is known for having some VERY large toys… like their nearly foot long Hoss, larger than life Goliath, and the truly monstrous Raptor XL. Measuring it at just 6.5 insertable inches, I figured that the Duke would be a pretty fit for me. After all, I’ve seen and slept with much larger in person. But, I didn’t account at all for the girth of this toy… or the girth of the head. The thickness of this dildo is right there from the start… and frankly, it’s intimidating.
The girth of the head at it’s largest point is 2 inches in diameter, and 6 inches around. The shaft is 1 5/8 inches in diameter, and 5 inches around. It is shaped like a typical penis, but without any texture and a slightly larger, more prominent head with a protruding under lip designed for g-spot stimulation. I’ve definitely been with thicker guys, but having a real live penis is much more supple and forgiving than hard silicone. This much size was just too much for me. I found the tip and head hard to insert, and the entire dildo gave me a stretching feeling that was uncomfortable and bordered on painful if I tried to thrust. It was just too large and unforgiving for me.
The Duchess is similar in size, at 6.5 insertable inches, with a 1.6″ shaft and 1.8″ head.

Just remember not to use silicone lube, as it could degrade the material. Water-based lube only!
Vibration & Power
The Duke is one of Tantus’s vibrators – but they would be better described as a vibrating dildo. At the base, the toy has a small hole which perfectly fits the one-speed bullet it comes with. The bullet itself is decent quality, but has just one speed. If you haven’t invested in a bullet yet (WHICH YOU NEED TO RIGHT NOW), this is a nice one to have in your drawer for pinpoint stimulation. However, the bullet is a moderate vibration at best – and not very versatile. When it’s inserted into the dildo, the vibration becomes barely perceptible and lost along the shaft of the toy. The battery is also smaller than a AAA. It would be difficult to replace this battery if it were to die. Personally, I prefer to use Tantus’s vibrators as a dildo, without their vibrator inside. Or, if I’m really craving a vibrating shaft – I add one of my own favorite vibrators into the hole in the shaft.

Overall
If you’re used to toys with a larger size, I think this dildo would be great for thrusting and providing an enjoyable fullness feeling without the discomfort. I personally enjoy something a bit more textured, but the untextured shaft and head of this toy would be great for feeling full without the distraction of texture. It would also be good specifically targeting your g-spot, with smooth entry. Because cause this dildo is straight (rather than curved), the g-spot stimulation won’t be as strong as something like the Sport – but the textured lip of the shaft could definitely provide some fab feelings. If you can fit it inside you and work with it, I’m sure the feeling of the Duke would be wonderful. I, however, cannot fit it or thrust it, so it just wasn’t right for me. This toy is definitely not meant for beginners – or anyone with a teeny vagina or ass!
