Material & Cleaning
The Duchess is made from completely body-safe silicone. The material is hypoallergenic, non-porous, and hygienic, but still soft and squishy. The combination of softness, firmness, and flexibility makes The Duchess feel realistic, even if it’s not 100% realistic in shape and color. When paired with a clitoral vibe, it feels amazing to clench around as your body reaches an orgasm. The material definitely moves with you.
The silicone is easy to clean because it’s boilable and dishwasher safe. That being said, I’m a bit of a lazy girl when it comes to playtime. While I always try to give my toys a good cleaning, there are definitely moments when I’m in a hurry or very wound up and I just want to spray my toy down with toy cleaner, wipe it off, and give it a go. The Duchess’s material definitely isn’t meant for this. It’s not matte silicone, but shiny and almost sticky, meaning fuzzies and hair stick to it very easily. A thorough cleaning and time to air dry are very important because of this, as well as a location to keep it where it won’t collect dust.
Size & Shape
If you like your dildos to be plus-sized, The Duchess will be up your alley. Unless I’m really turned on before play time, I prefer what I call a “manageable” girth, and this toy went a bit beyond that, at least for my body. With a diameter of 1.8 inches and an insertable length of 6.6 inches, it’s definitely larger than your average penis, but not out of a book of world records. The shaft was just about perfect in size, but the round, semi-realistic, bulbous head was too much for me personally. Even with lube, it lightly hurt upon insertion and I occasionally felt a little pain during use. However, size queens who love to push their limits will definitely love this toy!
For my version, the base is a bright blue that sort of radiates up the white shaft. That’s because while the outer layer of silicone is white, soft, and flexible, the inner layer is blue and more firm. Though it’s certainly not completely realistic, The Duchess mimics the shape of a penis with a smooth, straight, flexible shaft and a rounder, thicker, soft head. I love the flexibility of this toy, and the tip is perfect for G- (or P-) spot stimulation.
At the base of The Duchess is a hole that makes it compatible for use with a suction cup or harness – another bonus. A small bullet vibe is included with the toy that can also be used at the base. The bullet runs on one battery that is included. Unfortunately, there’s only one mode – a mid-level, steady vibration that’s very quiet. I definitely believe that with future use, I’ll enjoy this toy more by inserting another bullet that’s more powerful, like the We-Vibe Tango.

I’m elated that I finally got to try out a Tantus toy and that it was The Duchess. While it might be a little too girthy for me on most days, there are some amazing aspects about it, and I love that it’s so versatile. I can’t wait to try this toy some more and learn what my body (or a partner’s) likes with it!
