Venus Libido is perhaps best known as a badass female illustrator, but more recently she’s becoming known for her fun and informative show, Private Parts, on IGTV and YouTube. With a new guest every episode, there’s always something new to learn about or just laugh at. Learn about toys, hear personal stories from guests, and watch zany over-the-top demonstrations all in one place! Private Parts has a little something for everyone.

Recently, we had the chance to chat with Venus and learn more about her inclusive, educational, and all-around entertaining new venture and learned more about the inspiration behind the series.

For readers that aren’t familiar with your work, can you give us a little background on who you are and what you do? What have been some highlights of your career journey up to this point?

My name is Venus Libido and I am an illustrator, presenter, and model from the UK. I’m mostly known for my dark, poppy, and sometimes controversial drawings around mental health, female pleasure, equality, and much more. I’ve recently created a new chat show called Private Parts where I interview guests about all things sex, kinks, and relationships. The show is inclusive, educational, and full of laughs as I take my guests through a series of Venus Libido styled games and sexy, saucy and naughty Q&As.

I think the highlight of my career has to be producing my own show and working with such an incredible team of people who really believed in the project. I also had my work reposted by Rihanna last year on IWD which I think has to be one of the most incredible days of my life.

What was the inspiration for Private Parts and how did it come into existence?

Private Parts is something that I’ve dreamt of doing for years. I have always been so interested in sex, relationships, kinks, and weird sex stories and also comedy so I thought, “Why not combine the two?” I’ve not yet seen a sex-related chat show that was inclusive, educational, and funny all at the same time. I then approached Womanizer with the idea and they really believed and supported me the whole way, I’m incredibly grateful to them for helping make this dream come true for me.

Describe what a typical workday is like for you.

I normally spend the morning watching Frasier until about 9 AM, then I will reply to emails and drink a tonne of tea until about noon. The afternoon is then spent drawing, working on commissioned projects, or working on my podcast. Then I head to the gym, cook a banging dinner, and walk my dog. My day always ends with me watching It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia in bed and falling asleep. Bam that’s my day …so exciting, I know!

How does Private Parts stand out from other webseries on IGTV and YouTube?

I think it stands out because I ask the questions people don’t always dare to ask. Like, “Show me how you give a good blow job”, “What’s it like dating as a trans man or woman?”, and “How has sex been after having cervical cancer?” I also think my show stands out because my guests are so fabulous. All of them are incredibly open and willing to share their own sexual adventures. Not only does this help others not feel so alone but also it helps educate others on a variety of different experiences when it comes to dating and sex.

What have you found to be the most rewarding element of working on Private Parts?

I think the response has been the most rewarding. The comments and messages I have received have been so positive and uplifting. Everyone has been so kind and it’s honestly the most amazing feeling. I think creating the show has really helped me feel more confident about my own sexuality and what I can work on trying in the bedroom. Also, being around some of the most influential people in my life was super empowering for me.

Are there any topics you wanted to cover on the show but didn’t have the chance to?

Yes, I would love to have had a few couples on my show and talk to them about their relationship in the bedroom. Hopefully, this can happen for Season 2 though!

Hosting an online series seems like an accessible way to amplify your voice and build a platform.  Do you have any words of wisdom for readers that are pursuing a similar path?

Stick to what you believe in and just manifest positive energy around it. Good things come to those who work hard and giving up should never be an option.

Before we leave you, do you have any upcoming projects that we should keep an eye out for?

I am currently working on making Season 2 bigger and better! In the meantime, you can find me at @venuslibido on Instagram.
