How Greater Flexibility Improves Your Sex Life

Ladies who are flexible have instant sex appeal! This is because of two main reasons: visual arousal and potential positions. What is flexibility?

Flexibility is the range of motion in a joint, or group of joints, or the ability to move joints effectively. Range of motion is the distance and direction your joints can move, while mobility is the ability to move without restriction. Within the broader definition of flexibility there exists two distinct types of flexibility: Static and Dynamic.

The term static flexibility refers to an individual’s absolute range of motion that can be achieved without movement. In other words, how far we can reach, bend or turn …and then hold that position, like the splits.

In other words, how far we can reach, bend or turn by using velocity to achieve maximum range of motion. Flexibility is related to muscle strength. Regular stretching improves flexibility and joint mobility, which in turn assist with circulation and can prevent injury when undertaking strenuous activity… this means more practice in the horizontal position with your partner!

If flexibility hasn’t really been on your radar, then this may change your mind. Not only is flexibility an instant turn on when done suggestively in front of a partner, but a lot of tricky sexual positions actually target the g-spot or clitoris, making sex more enjoyable! How do I increase flexibility?

There are two great ways to increase the flexibility needed for contortionist-like sex positions: yoga and the splits.

Yoga helps flexibility as it is essentially stretching. Yoga stretches not only the muscles, but also the joints. It also helps to prevent muscle soreness and promotes faster recovery between workouts… or whatever activities you are partaking in! Yogic stretching is like a constant battery charger. It loosens tight muscles, which tend to trap lactic acid (the waste product that accumulates in the muscle cells during other training sessions, or a vigorous sexual session). Not only this, but many yoga stretches and movements also work towards doing the splits.

Being able to do the splits, works the lower body and stretches the hip abductors, gluteus maximus, quadriceps, hamstrings, gastrocnemius, and iliopsoas. So, not only does it improve flexibility, it also tightens and tones those areas. Middle splits, also known as side splits,are where both legs are stretched out to the sides. These are the more challenging of the two splits as they require more flexibility of the both legs as well as flexibility in the hip flexors, groin, hamstrings and quadriceps.

The front splits are slightly easier to achieve; it is when one leg is in front and one leg is behind. Most people find one easier to achieve than the other. Like the middle splits, these splits require excellent flexibility in the hip flexors, groin, hamstrings, and quadriceps. The splits open up more than just your legs… it opens up the book of sexual positions and locations! If you find yourself in a small change room, hook one leg over his shoulder while standing and go for it! Or with a bit more space, he can lie back as you split across him… a great visual!
