Reader / Community Relations Internship

Slutty Girl Problems is looking for passionate, hardworking, creative, and trend-loving reader and community relationship interns to work on a part-time basis, remotely.

 

Position:    Customer Relationship Intern / Junior Community Manager
Industry:   Public Relations, Marketing, and Community Development
Location:   Remotely
When:        Fall, Winter, Spring, or Summer
Commitment:       Part Time (20 hours/week) or quarter time (10 hours/week).
Days & Hours:      Flexible – Preferably Monday through Friday
Compensation:    Unpaid.
School Credit Available?:   Yes

Internship Description

Interns will assist the CEO with all community-oriented tasks, including: facilitating our weekly newsletters, researching and reporting on current trends, optimizing reader experience, tracking web and social media presence, providing recommendations for growth, connecting with new potential readers, researching & developing new ways to connect with readers, and improving the reader and community experience with innovative changes and ideas, including engagement in trends, and other projects. Interns are given high-level tasks and a lot of responsibility!

Interns can work directly with the CEO remotely, on a part-time or quarter-time basis. Hours are flexible. We require regular communication, at least one meeting each week, and weekly progress reports & goals. This internship is unpaid. Interns can receive school credit if desired.

 

Candidate Requirements

Candidates must be current college students or post-graduates with a passion for and understanding of Slutty Girl Problems. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. Candidate should be experienced in writing professional, thoughtful, well-constructed emails. Should also be interested and knowledgable about popular trends, pop culture, and popular blogs/sites. Previous press, community-building, or customer experience and development experience – including coursework – is a plus.

Candidates must be able to work independently, professionally, and creatively to research & develop new ideas and implement them. Should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, on-trend, and be able to actively explore and develop multiple projects simultaneously. Must be self-motivated, creative, dedicated, passionate, hard-working, organized, efficient, and detail-oriented. Interns are considered SGP staff, and as such, are expected to perform top-notch work.
