When I tried the Duet, my first toy from the Crave line, I instantly knew it would become one of my all time favorite vibrators. It’s one of those once-in-a-lifetime toys that combines gorgeous luxury with powerful vibrations. It was incredibly powerful, 100% waterproof, whisper quiet, versatile, and made of a silky smooth silicone that is unlike anything I’ve experienced. I loved all the of elegant touches, and the upscale features, like the built-in USB charging port and leather storage pouch. This incredible vibrator was instantly on the top of the list of go-to toys in my naughty drawer! I quite literally craved for every other toy in the line…

So, I was absolutely thrilled when the beautiful people at SheVibe sent me the absolutely precious Crave Droplet to review. This toy has been on my wish list from the moment I learned about Crave! It’s essentially a vibrator and jewelry combined. You can elegantly wear it around your neck for discreet on the go pleasure, or wear it in the bedroom for a uniquely sensual experience. Like other Crave toys, it oozes luxury. I couldn’t wait to try it. Yet, while the simplicity and elegance of the design really gets my sensual motors geared up – the weak vibrations left me wanting much, much more. This toy would be best for someone who prefers incredibly light vibrations, tickling teases, or simply wants to wear a naughty little secret around their neck. For that, it’s lovely!

Note: This toy is no longer available. We recommend the similar Crave Vesper which we liked even more.

Incredible Crave

Crave has been around since 2010, but since they’re so luxuriously high-quality, and have a very small line of products, you may not have heard of them. Their products aren’t often carried at your local sex shop or boutique. In fact, they only have a few products available, of which the Duet is definitely my favorite. I love the dual motors with a rabbit style, but if you’re looking for something else, they have a line of gorgeous clitoral vibrators perfectly matched to any girl’s style. (Many have been discontinued since we originally wrote this review, but you can still get the Vesper!) The Solo is similar in power and size, but with a single point rather than a dual clitoral arm. The Wink is slightly smaller and battery-powered for more discreet and gentle pleasure. The Droplet is a set of two tiny, lighter vibrators that are perfect for foreplay and can be worn around the neck as a discreet necklace in public. It can also be adjusted to serve as nipple vibrators. I’m especially excited about their latest necklace vibrator, Vesper, which is super gorgeous and can also be discreetly worn around your neck. I hope to review it in the future! (And I did – check out our Vesper review here!)

Droplet’s Design

The Droplet comes in a delightful little white box with Crave across the front. Inside, you’ll find a velvet pouch which delicately holds the Droplet, with each end in it’s own pouch. Life the chain the connects the two to pull out and reveal each droplet. Each is just over an inch tall, held by a delicate leather loop of about the same length. The loop has a small piece of metal that can adjust the size of the holes on each side. The metal drops are surprisingly heavy for their size, as they are made entirely out of metal. Each droplet unscrews to reveal a few small watch batteries, and can be screwed tighter to activate the light vibration. Because of the tiny batteries, I’m not sure if someone would be able to easily replace them.

The chain of the Droplet is made entirely of stainless steel, and feels sleek, dainty, and charming against the skin. It is a full 43 inches, and the leather loops add about an inch on each side. At this length, the droplets fall lower than I expected – all the way to my hips (and I’m 5’9″!). To wear them at a more appropriate length (breast level), you twist the chain around into a loop around your neck. It’s designed to be simple and sleek, but if you’re wearing the necklace for more than a few minutes, you’ll have to re-adjust. The weight of the droplets tends to pull on the chain until it’s right against the front of your neck, and the droplets are below your breasts again. Even so, they look totally classy and discreet – and would genuinely be a great addition to the right outfit. No one would ever know it was a vibrator – unless they had read about it before, of course!

Tiny, Teasing Temptations

Perhaps predictably, the Droplet has teeny, tiny vibrations that are barely there. Personally, this speed is no where near close to what I would need to orgasm. In fact, it is the weakest vibrator I’ve ever tried. Even as an addition to foreplay, it doesn’t feel like enough for me. I don’t have particularly sensitive nipples (probably around the realm of normal, but not overly sensitive and pleasurable) – and I honestly can’t feel a thing from the vibration. It feels like metal on my nipples, but not metal that is vibrating. Even on my clitoris, it feels no more powerful than a light tickle. However, someone with very sensitive nipples may find this sensation delightful. Unfortunately, it’s just not for me.

Whether you’re standing up or lying flat on your back, it’s quite difficult to keep the droplets in place, as they tend to roll around. But, I found a bit of a creative way to keep them put. If your nipples are hard, you can position the lower loop of leather around them, and adjust the metal bar to hold a bit tighter. That way, they’re a bit more secured and stable during erotic wear.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Can be worn as a necklace
  • Really gorgeous design
  • High end materials

Cons

  •  Incredibly weak vibrations
  • Difficult to line up with nipples
  • Doesn’t always stay in place as a necklace

Overall

Unfortunately, the Droplet just isn’t for me. The vibrations are weak and barely perceptible, but perhaps I should have known that going into it because of the size of the toy. Someone with very sensitive nipples may find the sensation divine. To me, it feels like virtually nothing. Even so, I love the design of the Droplet and will absolutely keep it in my jewelry drawer as a kinky little secret. I’d absolutely wear it out, without hesitation. I just won’t be keeping it in my naughty drawer.
