Last week, I reviewed Pipedream’s Icicles #52 – a gorgeous, handcrafted glass pleasure tentacle that perfectly hit my g-spot, and would be perfect for a beginner with a slim, smooth shaft. This week, I upped the ante with Pipedream’s Icicles #24 –  another gorgeous glass dildo from the Icicles line that is thicker and more textured for the girl who really loves the unique feel of glass. Each and every one of the toys in the Icicles line – ranging from dildos, butt plugs, and even vibrators – is truly a work of art. They are absolutely gorgeous, elegant, and hand-crafted to perfection, without a single blemish or scratch to irritate you. Although the Icicles #52 looks particularly elegant and graceful – the Icicles #24 has the powerful look of a mythical beast… or a very well-endowed octopus. It is a bit shorter and fatter than the Icicles #52, although not intimidating at all. It has a very unique texture, with several bumps, veins, and ridges for even more sensation. It’s still sleek and unique, but with a powerful texture that will please those craving a bit more variety. After giving it a try, it’s safe to say that I’m officially converted to the world of tentacle glass dildos, and I’m not looking back.

Design

Pipedream’s Icicles #24 has a similar tentacle shape as the Icicles #52, except it is a bit shorter, much wider, and has a lot of unique texture. The head is gently tapered for easy insertion. Then, the shaft of the toy is very unique. Instead of a rounded shaft like most toys, this tentacle is more tongue-like. It is wide and flat, bulging out to 1.5 inches across, 1.25 inches high, and 5 inches around. It took a bit of time and lube for my body to adjust to this new size, but once I was warmed up, it had an incredible “fullness” feeling that satisfied me without pushing my limits. In total, the toy is just about 6 inches long, with a great tentacle handle for holding on.  4.5 inches of it is insertable, including a wide head to hit my g-spot perfectly.

The curve isn’t perfect for g-spot stimulation, but the bold head is so broad that once you’re in the general area of the g-spot, you really can’t miss it. With a bit of positioning, it’s a sure shot. Glass as a material is also very hard, so the sensation is very powerful. The tongue of the shaft has an indent through the center of the top, and two different textures. The top is bumpy, while the bottom is veiny. For me, I couldn’t feel the veins at all – but the bumps were really intense. In fact, it was a bit overpowering for me at first. It look a while for my body to really get used to the sensation, and then for it to become pleasurable. But, a little bit of lube helped this toy to glide more smoothly, and as my body adjusted to this unique shape, thrusting was incredible. You can really feel each and every bump as they slide along you, and give your walls a pleasurable massage feeling as they rub. If you love texture, this is really the perfect toy to get you going – but if you have a more sensitive vagina, steer clear! It took me a bit of warm up to get there, but it was well worth the ride once I was there.

Material

Glass as a sex toy is really awesome – both in texture, versatility, and ability to clean it. Glass is completely smooth, so aside from the bumps, there is absolutely no drag against your skin. Glass is aslo 100% non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and non-porous – making it incredibly body-safe and easy to clean. When cared for properly, glass toys (and Pipedream’s glass in particular) can last a lifetime – and cleanup is incredibly easy. For a gentle and “typical” clean, you can safely clean it with toy wipes, cleaner, or simply antibacterial soap and warm water (my preferred method). If you’re looking for a deeper clean – particularly if you’re sharing with partners – glass is dishwasher safe (top rack only) and boil-able.

Glass is also perfect for temperature play. You can run it under hot or warm water to heat things up, or chill it under cold water or in the freezer for an icier sensation. Just be sure to test it out on your wrist before moving to your nether regions, in case it is too hot or too cold. No matter what you choose, your glass toy is sure to please… and will slowly start to adjust to your body’s natural temperature during play. But, be careful when deeply or quickly thrusting this toy (and other glass toys), because it can easily bruise your cervix with it’s hard material.

Pros & Cons

Overall

The Icicles #24 is perfect for the user who’s already a bit experienced with penetrative toys, and is ready to try some texture. If you already know you love textured toys, this is a total win! The size and texture took a while for me to get used to, but once I got going, the incredible sensation of the bumps and broad head against my g-spot were unbeatable. It’s fullness feeling was also perfect – and you can experiment with temperature play! I only wish it came with a pouch to prevent it from breaking or cracking during storage… something Pipedream should definitely include in their cute boxes!

On the flip side, if you’re interested in trying a glass toy for the first time, I’d recommend Pipedream’s Icicles #52 instead. It’s much thinner with less texture, and very easy to insert and thrust, without a fullness feeling or extra texture which may be uncomfortable for you.
