When I first received this bullet, I was extremely excited. After trying the Key Charms Silk, I wanted a vibrator with more easily interchangeable sleeves, and this was just the fit. It was also one of my first “luxury” bullets, and I wondered if it would live up to it’s amazing claim. The box was gorgeous, the presentation was flawless, and I was a diabetic in a bakery. The shiny pink vibrator, the two pink silicone sleeves, and the shiny button on top of the vibrator had me so excited. It definitely looked luxurious. However, I quickly learned that I was given a paper plate instead of the fine China I expected. It was like Santa had put sugar-free jelly beans inside of a skittles bag or a ring pop in a Tiffany’s box. It wasn’t very “luxury”.

Gorgeous Silicone Sleeves

I love the feel of the two silicone sleeves that come with the Io. One of them is completely smooth silicone and the other has silicone bumps placed around it, giving it a great sensation. I love the feel of the vibe and the sleeves so much that I was even more disappointed that the vibration wasn’t up to speed. Even without the sleeves, the vibrator’s plastic body is smooth and feels great against my skin. The size of it is perfect as well, making it ideal for clitoral stimulation during intercourse and for when you’re traveling. There are so many amazing things about this bullet, but they no longer matter because of the lack of vibrations. It definitely looks pretty in it’s carrying pouch and even more gorgeous out of it. It’s really such a shame that it’ll probably always sit in that carrying pouch.

No Bang for Your Buck

When I use a vibrator that has a $50 price tag, I expect it to at least have strong vibrations. The Key Io technically has 5 speeds but two of them are weak pulsating speeds that were useless to me and the three “low”, “medium”, “high” speeds should be renamed to “lowest”, “lower”, and “low”. The highest of the constant vibration speeds did manage to get me off, but after quite a bit of work and a lot of moving the hard plastic around, which might have had as much to do with it as the weak vibrations. I noticed that once I put the silicone coverings on the vibrator itself, the vibes got even weaker, discouraging me from even using them.

Close, But No Cigar

Jopen came extremely close (pun not intended) to creating an amazing bullet. I love the design of it, how the button to change settings and turn it off is on the top where my thumb can easily access it, and that it gets smaller towards the bottom so you can really pin point your clit. The plastic is a great material on the vibrator itself and as long as you warm it up in your hands before using it, you wouldn’t even need the silicone sleeves. The fact that they provided two silicone sleeves, one smooth and one textured, is even more fantastic. The sleeves are soft and comfortable to hold, touch, and extremely easy to clean and remove. It’s waterproof and, if the vibrations weren’t as strong as my iPhone, then I would take this everywhere with me: the bath, the shower, the lake, the pool, anywhere with water. They even had the right idea when it came to the vibrations itself; three solid vibrations at different intensities and then two slightly altered pulsating vibrations. These would all be fantastic if they were just STRONGER. I feel like the person who invented this vibe went all out until it came down to what really matters. It’s whisper quiet, making it subtle and the button is even stainless alloy for god’s sake. It comes in three colors, a one year warranty, and in packaging so beautiful that you definitely think “luxury” when you see it. They came so close and then just gave up.

Overall

This is a beautiful bullet with everything you could ever want, except what really matters and that’s strong vibrations. If you can’t cross the finish line, does it really matter that it has all of the bells and whistles?
