First Impressions

At first glance, the Queen Bee is definitely not intimidating. It’s sleek, smooth, and an elegant shade of onyx. The plastic surface is easy to clean and feels fabulous on the skin.

The first thing you notice when using the Queen Bee is the plate on its top surface. Hot Octopuss says that the toy has “PulsePlate” technology, meaning that the plate oscillates using a “piston-type mechanism” to stimulate the clit. This is definitely unique – something I haven’t seen in a toy before! The plate itself creates some really intense, rumbly vibrations. If they’re too much for you, simply flip over the toy and use the other side for a toned-down version of the same vibes, without the movement of the plate. This side of the vibrator also has the controls, including power up and power down as well as a switch that chooses between six vibration modes. Every mode is powerful, and even the lowest setting is pretty intense, at least on the PulsePlate side!

Of course, with great power comes, in this case, great noise. OMG. I cannot use this vibrator unless no one else is home! The charger is discreet, the small tote bag is discreet, the shape of the vibrator itself is discreet – but the sound most certainly isn’t!

My Experience

Okay, so time to talk about my time with this luxurious toy! I was so excited to use the unique PulsePlate, and although it was amazingly powerful, there were some cons with the pros. Let’s talk about the pro’s first!

This side of the vibrator reminded me of my magic wand toys. The vibrations were that powerful! The bonus here is that the Queen Bee has a number of intensity and power modes. Magic wand toys usually come with one or two settings – strong and super strong – unless you use a dimmer switch in that room! And I have never met a magic wand that comes with pulse modes, just a steady buzz. So when it comes to diversity of vibrations, the Queen Bee wins! (Back to that noise level, though! Even my magic wand is quieter!)

However, I encountered a bit of a problem with the PulsePlate. I found it to be a little pinchy against my pubic hair, to the point that I didn’t enjoy using this side. Now, this definitely and totally has to do with my current grooming set-up. I’ve been going with a trimmed au naturale look, and I felt like the movement of the plate caused a little bit of pulling on my hair. Maybe it was in my head because of the pinching, but it just didn’t feel as pleasant as I wanted it to. Someone without pubic hair would likely have a different experience with this side.

I flipped the toy over and used the other side, which still felt amazing, but the vibrations were definitely less intense which led to more of a “nice” orgasm than a “wow” one. With the noise level, they were not as intense as I would expect. The strong vibes are definitely contained to the other, piston-motion side. (Then again – that means those who need a little less intensity can enjoy this toy, too!) I’m excited to try the PulsePlate again after I treat myself to a wax pass for the holiday season.

Back to that magic wand note – yes, the vibes are super similar. Another “pro” when it comes to the Queen Bee, were we to compare the two, is that it’s so much easier to clean and waterproof. A lot of wands are corded, which makes them definitely not waterproof, and if exposed to too much moisture, you’ll eventually need to change the foamy head of one. The plastic on the Queen Bee is easy enough to wipe down, plus you can use it in the shower or even submerge it in a tub!

The Queen Bee is totally a next-level, luxurious clit stimulator with a totally unique piston-motion thats very powerful.
