When I received Sustain’s Organic Lube, I couldn’t wait to give it a go. As an organic-loving girl with an eye for sustainable, body-safe products, the fact that this lube is not only organic, but vegan and not tested on animals, was all I needed to be instantly enamored! The lube definitely lived up to the hype, and satisfied me in most scenarios. While it was not quite enough for rough sex or anal, and didn’t last as long as I’d like, I definitely think this is a good all-purpose lube that won’t disappoint for every day use, especially if you like all-natural things like I do.

The Experience

As a lover of all things organic, I was super excited to try Sustain’s Organic Lube. Everything about it looked and felt normal, though perhaps a little thicker than the lubes I’m used to. I’d say the consistency is not as thick, not even close, to something like neosporin, but it’s definitely staying put on my hand where I spread it out, like a gel.

For about 10 minutes, everything went well, then it started to get sticky, not sticky as in glue like, but sticky as in it was definitely time to re-apply! We weren’t a fan of that. That being said, it did leave my skin nice and moisturized, though it defintely left a lubey scent, as I guess the lavender wore off. Since it wore off during use, I didn’t really have any reason to clean up, other than the post-coital shower, which I came out of feeling completely clean and normal.

Despite my positive experience with the product, reviewers on Amazon have complained that this lubricant caused burning sensitivity. We’re not sure which chemical could be causing this… but some people may experience sensitivities like those described!

Pros & Cons

Overall

I wanted to love Sustain’s Organic Lube, but in the end it turns out I just liked it. This is not a lube I would recommend if you like rough, quick sex or anal, since all of those types of sex need some really good long lasting lube. But, it’s still good for shorter sessions or other types of activities that aren’t as intense.

If organic, vegan, gluten-free lubes are important to you, then this one is a good choice for what else I’ve tried in this market, but it’s just not the product that I need for my rough and fast sex life.
