Unique Design
What really intrigued me about Evolved’s Wild Orchid was the bulbous shape of the shaft. Measuring seven inches in length with five inches insertable, the silky smooth, softly curved shaft is manageable and slim. However, the play of the curves along the shaft create a girthy feel once inserted. Though it was easy to get inside me, at some angles it proved a little too girthy-feeling, creating rectal pressure. If that’s something you enjoy or your anatomy is different than mine, this might prove pleasurable. For me, it was easily fixed by changing my position. (For example, I’m most comfortable using this toy while lying on my back rather than kneeling over it.) The pointed tip at the end of the shaft is angled so it’s fabulous for G-spot stimulation, while the thicker part of the shaft and its smooth silicone texture make it perfect for thrusting up along the front wall if you require more spacious stimulation.
But the unique design went beyond the skillfully designed shaft. Wild Orchid has a truly unique clitoral stimulator. The smaller of the ears is two inches long, and similarly bulbous in shape. Just like the shaft, the shape of this clit ear is perfect if you need precise, pointed stimulation, or if you require a flatter, more spread out vibe. I experimented with positioning the smaller ear both ways, and each method was equally orgasm-inducing!
However, the shape isn’t even the best part of the clit stimulator. While the shaft of this toy is rigid and inflexible, aside from a little give at the tip, the smaller of the ears bends and moves into any angle. This loose flexibility creates a bobbing sensation when the clit vibrator is turned on which is absolutely unique and heavenly. However, if you need something a little more steady, it’s easy enough to hold the smaller ear in place.
Flower Power
The package of this toy boasts over 24 combinations of speeds and functions. These controls are both simple and versatile. By pressing and holding the power button on one side of the base for three seconds, you can turn the toy on and off. Once the toy is on, press the power button to switch between three settings: clit and shaft stimulation, just clit stimulation, and just shaft stimulation. The clitoral vibrations are buzzy yet powerful, while the vaginal vibrations are more of the rumbly variety that rocked me straight to my core. Even the lowest of the buzzes are still pretty strong, more at a mid-level. Though there wasn’t a setting on this toy that was “too intense” for me, generally I find the first setting of a vibrator to be too tame for my tastes. I found all of the vibrations to be up to my speed!
On the other side of the base is a button with an image of a wave on it that is used to switch between modes. The way the modes work depend on whether or not you select the clit, shaft, or both parts of the motor to run simulataneously. The different modes are as follows:
- The first steady vibe

- Pulse
- Faster pulse
- Half wave, growing in strength
- Half wave, descending in strength
- Two pulses followed by a long, strong pulse
The controls are easy to use, though the buttons are a bit sensitive. I accidentally tapped them on occasion while holding them and lost my buzz when I mistakenly switched between modes.
The manual claims about an hour of battery life for the Wild Orchid, and this toy is rechargeable, which I absolutely love. A USB cable is included, so you can just plug that into your wall charger and get the battery back to its best! The port for the charger is small and blends right into the silicone, so there’s absolutely no worries about it getting damaged if you take fun time into the tub.
Care & Cleaning
Matte silicone is my favorite toy material not only because it feels amazing and works so well with most lubricants, but because it’s so darn easy to clean! The flexibility of the clit stimulator makes getting into the Orchid’s nooks and crannies especially easy, so rinsing it down with your favorite toy cleaner or soap and warm water is a breeze. The box that the toy comes in is nice, though a bit bulky. I don’t think it’s intended for storage, but it actually really works really well for it! Finally, there’s a 5 Year Warranty on the Wild Orchid, which is always reassuring when I find a toy that I love.
