As I sorted through Tantus’s big box of toys to review, one tiny little toy seemed to dwarf all the rest. Comparatively, the adorably named Flirt was petite and unintimidating. But after holding it in my hand and realizing the even smaller office this was designed to fit inside, I could already feel my ass clenching in anticipation (it’s little way of saying “Noooo!”). Just like the Flex (double penetration dildo), the Flirt was an anal toy I had to talk myself into using. I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to fit it inside me, especially across the widest part. But, once I got up the courage to insert it and release my inhibitions, it was incredibly easy and much more comfortable than I and imagined. In fact, it was pleasurable! The Flirt has the perfect design for this anal n00b, and the gentle sensation of the Flirt’s curves seemed to effortlessly glide in and out of me (perfect for thrusting). But, I couldn’t really use this toy as it was intended – as a butt plug. The less-than-pronounced base had my red flags flying, and I couldn’t relax and let go to wear it, sit on it, or walk around. Truly, I felt like I was holding on for dear life… whether my ass would swallow it up if I sat down, the world will never know. With such a tiny flared base, it just wasn’t worth the risk and embarrassment of heading to the emergency room to have a search-and-find team explore my ass – simply to experience the Flirt as a plug.

The best thing about Tantus, hands down, is their high-quality designs made of even better materials. All of Tantus’s toys are made of a 100% medical-grade, ultra-premium silicone blend that is non-toxic, hypoallergenic, phthalate free, odorless, and tasteless… which is especially important when you’re talking about a toy that goes up the butt. This particular silicone has a glossy texture, which gives it a nice glide after pairing it with some lube, and has very little drag once inserted. That means that even for this virgin ass, slipping it in was smooth and seamless. Whether you’re using it vaginally or anally, it holds lube like a champ and will glide against you without any uncomfortable friction, as if they belonged there the whole time. The smooth silicone nearly guarantees less discomfort (especially for anal n00bs) and less need for lube (although when talking about butt toys, the more lube – the better!). This particular silicone is even a bit bendable and flexible, so it can conform to your body comfortably – but isn’t so soft that you’re struggling to get it inside you. Size & Design

The Flirt is literally THE perfect design for an anal beginner. Initially, I had wanted the Little Flirt – but now after trying the flirt, the tinier version (not much bigger than a finger) would have been way too much of a tease. The tip of the Flirt is just .75 inches across and 3 inches around – the perfect size for a slow and lubed up insertion. Then, it gradually curves to the widest part, which is 1.5 inches across and 4.75 inches around. Although it may sound and look like it’s large, the gradual work-up makes it effortless and incredibly pleasurable – especially when thrusting. After the largest part, it dips back down just before the flared base – at a final length of 1.25 inches across – and a 2 inch across base.

As for the Little Flirt, to quote from Tantus’s website, “The Little Flirt is barely a pinky width at the tip and only a finger width at the center, a petite 0.8″ wide by 3.35″ long, making it the perfect introduction to anal play. Adding the between-the-cheeks base to the long neck helps the plug stay put comfortably and remain one of the World’s Best anal toys for beginners.”

My Experience

I really enjoyed using this butt plug. It was easy to use as a beginner, and has a perfectly rounded tip and gradual curve for insertion. It is PERFECT for some gentle, lubed-up thrusting – whether you’re using it solo or with a partner.

But, I didn’t get to experience the true feeling of a “butt plug” – mainly because of the base of this toy. The area where your ass finally settles – between the largest part and the base of the toy – is nearly the same size as the largest part. So, the Flirt continually wants to “pop out” if it is not held in place. At the same time, the flared base is not much larger than the rest of the toy – and even has a gradual curve leading up to the very end. So, I had a very real and palpable fear that I thrusted too hard, or put it in and sat down, the Flirt may get sucked up and devoured inside of me. Unlike the vagina, the anus is a huge abyss without end – and a powerful sphincter keeping everything inside. I couldn’t help but be nervous that my ass would swallow it whole. I held on for dear life. I would have preferred a more pronounced base that would have left me free from worry.

Also, the round base didn’t comfortably fit between my cheeks if I were to use it as a plug that I could walk around with and wear all day (or even for a bit). A plug would probably be better with a long, rectangular base – like the Little Flirt – or and oval base – like the Neo – so it can comfortably fit between your cheeks. The round base would make this nearly impossible with my huge ass.

Even so, the Flirt was perfect for thrusting during play and sex… while still holding on (just in case).
