I’ve been more than a little curious about electric stimulation, otherwise known as E-Stim, toys. I’ve heard so many interesting things about them. As someone who really believes kegel exercises are important, I knew I had to give an E-Stim toy a try. As a kegel exerciser, E-Stim toy in general, and internal vibrator, Mystim’s Electric Eric was the perfect toy to introduce me to electric stim, and it most certainly did not disappoint.

Note: This product is discontinued, but we recommend the ElectraStim Electrosex Silicone Komodo Dildo!

Packaging

When I first took the vibrator out of the package, I immediately fell in love. A discreet, travel-friendly, zip-up container comes with the toy. Inside the container, I found the vibe, USB charger, user manual, a cloth travel bag, and two samples of lube – The Goldfather, made particularly for conductive toys like this one, and Bonnie & Glide, another water-based lube by Mystim. I really reccomend using a conductive lube like The Goldfather. With so many accessories, I knew this toy was going to be a good time.

Note: I definitely recommend storing the Electric Eric either in the cloth bag within the container, or in the netted off compartment. I was a little careless when I finished with it once, causing the silicone on the shaft to rub up against the charger, which left some ridge marks on the side and a slight black coating to rub off on my hands/the container. The toy works just fine and feels just as good still, but it’s something I have to pay attention to when cleaning. The material’s damage was definitely a bit of a bummer. (The toy does come with a two year warranty, though, so no worries!)

Instruction Manual

The instruction manual was definitely a bit intimidating at first. I’m used to five pages on a toy tops. While I’m the type to skip the directions and jump right into playtime, I eventually did give the manual a read and was glad I did. It’s easy to understand and really shows you what electric stimulation is all about. I hadn’t realized that Electric Eric isn’t just a vibe/E-Stim toy but is also a kegel trainer! The manual taught me how to use the training mode, which is something I’ve enjoyed since then. The booklet provides some great info on why a kegel exercise program is helpful – from helping a weak bladder to improving your ability to orgasm.

Look & Feel

I already mentioned the bad situation with the material, but just because it chipped away doesn’t mean I feel unsafe with this toy. It’s made from medical grade silicone, which means it’s completely body-safe. Still, for the price, I want something a little more durable. The silicone material, despite its flaws, is easy to clean. While the toy boasts that it’s waterproof, that means while it’s turned off. The manual warns you not to turn it on while it’s still wet. As with all silicone toys, clean the vibe with warm water and soap or your favorite body-safe disinfectant.

Ten centimeters long (probably about six are able to be inserted) with a maximum diameter of about 1.5 inches, I definitely found the somewhat flexible material to feel great inside of me. It provides a manageable girth and the slight curve is perfect for G-spot stimulation.

The base of the toy contains all of the controls, which I’ll describe next. It also has a magnetic emblem used to connect the charger. The Electric Eric is both pretty and sleek, neither masculine nor feminine. I definitely enjoy the design!

Power & Control

There are six buttons on Eric – the E-minus, E-plus, electric stimulation mode, vibration mode, vibration minus, and vibration plus. It might sound complicated, but all of the buttons are easy to get used to. The individual mode buttons turn the electric and vibration modes on, respectively, then switch between the programs. If you press and hold each button, that aspect of the toy switches off. The plus and minus buttons amp up or turn down the intensity of the E-Stim or vibrations, with the minus button also used to turn the toy off and the plus button also used to turn it on. Light strips indicate which parts of the toy are on.

I was disappointed that the vibrations aren’t more powerful with the Electric Eric since it’s a dual-motor toy. The vibration modes were definitely more for newbies. The modes are:

  1. Tip and shaft vibrate together
  2. Tip only vibrates
  3. Shaft only vibrates
  4. Tip and shaft vibrate slowly in turns
  5. Tip and shaft vibrate quickly in turns
  6. Tip and shaft vibrate very quickly in turns
  7. The tip’s vibes speed up and stop while the shaft’s vibes slow down and start.
  8. The shaft vibrates in long pulses while the tip vibrates in fast and then very fast pulses.

Even with mid-level vibes, I usually am able to get off through clit stimulation. I did not mess with this toy on my clit. It’s worth a shot – maybe you’ll like using it there. To each her own! However, I was just too paranoid about accidentally switching on the electric mode during external stimulation. I realized quickly that I definitely don’t enjoy the shock-like feeling on any of my outward lady bits, even though it felt absolutely amazing internally. I turn the toy on once it’s inside me and off before I even think about taking it out.

Electrical Stimulation

Personally, I wasn’t able to come using the electric modes either, but that doesn’t mean I’m not completely obsessed with them. The shocks feel to amazing in a way that toys that don’t provide E-Stim can’t compare to. The buzzy feelings feel great on the inside while sending insane vibrations along my outer genitals. That’s not to mention the beneficial kegel exerciser mode! The electric modes are:

  1. A constant prickly feeling (my favorite)
  2. A tingling that alternates in waves between gentle and intense
  3. Constant pulse
  4. An alternating pulse between gentle and intense
  5. A stimulation alternating in waves between tingling and pulsing
  6. The kegel exerciser mode

Definitely give the manual a read before you use the electric mode. It really shows you how to find the buzz that’s perfect just for you! Bonus: No matter the power level you’re using, this toy is near silent!

Pros & Cons

Overall

Though it has some disappointments, I can’t stop raving about the Electric Eric, like any new love. While I haven’t gotten off with it yet, that doesn’t mean I don’t get off on it at all. I’m obsessed with this kegel exerciser, and I definitely will be enjoying this buzzy feeling for a while.
