Are you sensitive to nasty ingredients that hide in less-than-ethically-manufactured lubes? We feel you… that’s why we love Pink Silicone Lubricant, the lube that promises to steer clear of harmful ingredients that cause irritation and all kinds of issues. This lubricant is a fabulous all-purpose silicone lube, but especially if you have sensitive skin, it will likely be right for you!

Wrapped in Class

Pink’s primary selling point was its classy packaging. The lube was marketed towards women and the packaging is meant to mimic high-end cosmetic items, like fancy perfume. This explains the hyper-feminine branding and aesthetic that is their forte. As they are first and foremost a “women’s product,” the company takes care not to include harmful ingredients in its products that may negatively affect the delicate vaginal environment.

Three Simple Ingredients

Pink’s silicone lubricant just has three silicone-derived ingredients, plus some added vitamin E and aloe vera extract, presumably for their soothing, moisturizing abilities. There are no nasty sugars or propylene glycol that might lead to a yeast infection or imbalance in your natural pH – in fact, if you’re particularly sensitive to most commercial lube, this will probably be a wonderful alternative. Heads up: most silicone lubes are unsafe to use with silicone toys, as the silicone bonds together, making the toy start to ‘melt.’ Save your sex toys. If you want to try it out, do a patch-test first.

In Use

The lube is clear, odorless and tasteless, and has a runny consistency. Because of this, it’s really easy to spread and can escape from you a little. I didn’t overly mind this, though, because it was really easy to coat all the relevant areas in use. As with most silicone lubes, once it’s on, it’s on! The lube doesn’t dry like regular water-based lubricants and maintains a slick, slippery feel that rarely needs reapplication. Because it’s also not water-soluble, one of the advertised uses is for the shower – and other water-play. I haven’t tried this myself, but feel like this is an accurate assessment – this lube really sticks around.

Despite its runniness, it also feels thicker than water-based alternatives when used with toys, creating a more substantial ‘barrier’ that feels almost cushioney. Water-based lubes provide some slipperiness and added glide, but silicone lubes feel as if they’re coating the areas and protecting them from friction. Into rough sex? Switch to silicone. Enjoy setting new ‘personal bests’? Silicone lube is your friend. Into glass, steel, or other rigid toys? You guessed it. Even if you’re just very sensitive, Pink Silicone is a good bet – it really feels like it’s protecting the delicate skin and tissues in a way that water-based equivalents just don’t.

Cleanup and Residue

Pink Silicone doesn’t really dry but leaves a slight, moisturized residual feel on the skin. This didn’t bother me, but if you really went all out and used quite a lot, it might feel a little tacky. Because Pink Silicone is not water-soluble, it needs to be washed off with soap to be completely removed. Fortunately, because the vagina is a self-cleaning organ, Pink’s target audience might be quite happy with a bit of a wipe for quick cleanup and a shower later, but those with penises might want to wash up immediately if the residue bothers them. And, although Pink is marketed towards cis women, I would definitely recommend it for a little hand-to-penis action – hey, it’s long-lasting, like I said.

Final thoughts

I enjoyed using Pink Silicone, and would definitely recommend it as a good, long-lasting lubricant for sensitive consumers looking for a little bit extra from their lubricant.
