Anyone who knows me, knows that I’m into BDSM. So, when Tantus offered to send me the Wham Bam Paddle, I was beyond thrilled. I have TONS of paddles and floggers, but most of my impact toys were made of wood, leather, cardboard, hard plastic, or other common materials… often a bit lightweight and “beginners” paddles. None were made of silicone… and certainly not as large, thick, or heavy-duty as the Wham Bam. I already loved Tantus’s super high quality, 100% premium silicone toys, and I knew this paddle would be equally incredible… if only I could get past my beginner’s fear, and accept the harsh sting of silicone. My review below!

The Experience

The Wham Bam Paddle is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Although “Wham Bam” is fitting, this paddle would have been better named “The BAMF Paddle” because of the powerful, harsh sting it delivers. Silicone, although usually a luxurious and supple material, delivers a surprisingly strong blow even with the subtlest of motions. It packs a LOT of power, with a hard hit that gets rougher with every wind up and motion. If you’re a pain princess like me, you’ll instantly fall in love with this paddle. I’m usually the kind of girl to say “harder, HARDER!” – but this paddle had me begging for mercy. After a hot red bottom, my sensitive skin just couldn’t take anymore… and my partner had to loosen up with some lighter, tender pats. This paddle also has a loud SMACK that could definitely be heard through the dorm walls, even if they were made of concrete… so if being discreet is one of your top priorities, you may want to save your spanking session for somewhere more private.

If you’re new to using paddles, definitely be cautious with the Wham Bam, and make sure to communicate with your partner ahead of time about your pain threshold, limits, and safe word. I could imagine this would be a rough starter toy for beginners as it is very tough on the tush, with a nice biting edge that leaves skin-stinging red marks. But, the material is so flexible and floppy that even the smallest motions can create a lot of SMACK. Simply hitting myself lightly on the hand or thigh can be painful. If your partner isn’t experienced and doesn’t know his or her own strength, they could definitely wind up a LOT too hard, and deliver an unintentionally excruciating hit. I’d recommend that only someone experienced with BDSM play, or is dedicated to going slow and communicating throughout, should use this paddle… and be sure you have a very kind and trustworthy partner who won’t break your limits with this BAMF. Although painful at times, the Wham Bam is incredibly exciting. I don’t think I’ve ever been so overjoyed to be spanked. You never quite know how powerful the next blow will be, as small motions can bring the paddle from soft and gentle tops to powerful thwacks. If you have a direct hit, the paddle’s force can be evenly dispersed against your skin, creating a solid flogging sensation. But, if you alter your wrist in any direction, the edges of the paddle will hit your skin first, which will deliver the sharpest sensation. Even for experienced kinksters, you may want to warm up with some hand spanks or a lighter paddle first. Getting the blood and endorphins pumping will prepare your body (and mind) for the pain you’re about to experience with the Wham Bam Paddle… but after that, you may find this powerful sensation addictive, and challenge yourself to see just how much you can take.

Size & Design

The Wham Bam Paddle is a total length of 15 inches long and 2 inches wide, set in a long rectangular shape with a curved handle. The paddle is .25 inches thick and 10 inches long, perfect for delivering powerful across-the-butt smacks. The handle is .5 inches thick and 5 inches long – making it very comfortable and easy to hold, even with my tiny hands. If you’re trying to spank a larger bottom, or even spank yourself, the long design of this paddle is perfect. The Wham Bam Paddle is a VERY flexible, moreso than any other paddle I’ve come across. The center of the paddle is most flexible, and it can nearly fold in half. This thick, strong silicone material mixed with the flexibility (or floppiness) of the paddle is probably what makes it so stingingly strong upon impact. At the same time, this combination can make wielding the paddle a bit difficult if you’re not experienced with delivering blows. Definitely take some time to get to know this paddle’s strength before testing it out on your bare bottom. It really needs very little force to be powerful.

Material

Like all of Tantus’ toys, this paddle is made of 100% high-quality, medical-grade, ultra-premium silicone blend. Silicone is known to be the safest material on the market, with an incredibly pleasurable feel. It is non-toxic, hypoallergenic, phthalate free, odorless, tasteless, and without fail the go-to material for body-safe toys… but I’ve never heard of a paddle being made with it until Tantus. A luxurious smooth material, yet heavy and thick – the perfect material for a hard smack. Amazingly, this same soft material can be incredibly soft and soothing when rubbed over your freshly spanked bottom. Your paddle probably won’t get too dirty, but if it does, silicone is incredibly easy to clean and care for. You can quickly and easily wash the Wham Bam with soap and warm water (both before and after play) and can also use toy wipes or cleaners. If you’re looking for more of a deep clean, this silicone is dishwasher safe, and boilable.  To boil it, remember to remove the bullet first, then boil in a pot for 3-5 minutes. Don’t use alcohol or silicone lube on silicone toys, as it could degrade the material.

Overall

Honestly, I was a bit nervous that the Wham Bam Paddle would be too much for me. I am a pain princess, but the thought of having such a harsh, stinging bite was intimidating. But, although this paddle does pack a strong punch, with my endorphins flowing, it felt more packed with pleasure than anything else. It’s certainly not for the weak or the new, and it could definitely be too much for some beginners. But, with a caring partner and a good warm up, this paddle would be an exciting challenge for anyone in love with pain. I absolutely LOVE this paddle, and it’s now my go-to favorite for all spanking occasions. If you’re a pain princess and want a paddle that will test your limits, definitely go with the Wham Bam Paddle!
