Elements Lakewood Festival is coming up this Memorial Day weekend, with 3 days of nearly non-stop music sprawled across over 10 stages. With a curated mix of music, art, performances, and interactive activities – Elements is a total unique experience that is reminiscent of summer camp and Burning Man all in one. As you roamed the festival grounds, you’re immersed in a vibrant, shifting world aside a picturesque lake – with plenty to keep you entertained beyond the music. We’re counting down our top 12 favorite places to kiss your bae at our most-loved festival to kick off summer this year – Elements Lakewood!

1. Dancing by the Fire Stage

Elements has over 10 stages, with many more that open up at night to keep the music going 24/7. The Fire stage is ultra-sensual, with three days of music and fire lighting up the stage. The surrounding area is cozy with art installations you can relax in, on, or under – plus, fire performers at night to keep you dazzled. It’s the perfect place to lose yourself in the moment and lip lock with your love.

BTW, what’s spinning at Elements? Dirtybird boss Claude VonStroke and house legend Jamie Jones are headlining, plus Maceo Plex and Lee Burridge for techno and house, Rezz and Troyboi bringing in bass, and Schpongle’s groovy vibes. There’s dozens more artists on their full lineup, and if you like electronic music, you really can’t go wrong no matter which stage you flow to.

2. In the Enchanted Forest

The Air and Alchemy stages are nestled in a romantic woods, with treehouses to climb on during the day, and neon trees lit by blacklights at night. Weave through a forest of neon-lit trees, tapestries, buses, mirrors, and art installations that come alive at night. Or climb through different types of treehouses and suspended bridges throughout the woods to listen to the music while overlooking the crowd.

3. Grooving by the Water Stage

The Water stage is perfectly placed on a beach overlooking a lake, with groovy house vibes all day long. Interactive art installations surround the stage, with plenty of room to dance, hoop, spin poi, or play. It’s the perfect place to let loose with your dance partner and sneak in a kiss or two.

Want more music? Elements also has an industrial-themed stage (think: Burning Man vibes), a stage in the the camp area, a huge gymnasium that turns into a warehouse rave at night, a Rock and Roll hall, and several other stages that pop up throughout the weekend across the grounds. Each offers a unique experience with different vibes, music, and interactive art to keep you entertained beyond the music.

4. Lakeside in the Sunshine

Of course, you’ll want to spend some time lounging by the gorgeous lake that defines “Lakewood” – all while still hearing the beats from the Water Stage! What better way is there to greet the day than basking in sunshine with your bae? Jump on in for a dip once you get warm!

5. In a Canoe…

Just off the Water stage, take a kayak, canoe, or peddle boat out to explore the lake. Venture a little further to the Earth stage to check out those sounds from just offshore. Anywhere you row to is the perfect place get a little lip service in.

6. …or on a Pirate Ship!

Set sail on a pirate ship, complete with dancing mermaid, pirates, fire blowers, and clowns. From here, you can still get down to the music from the Water stage – all while having a little party of your own! The Pirate Ship has a special place in Elements’ attendees hearts – this amazing, adventurous couple got married on it last year!

7. Relaxing in the Healing Garden

The Healing Garden is the perfect place to get a little self-care, with daily yoga and wellness activities. Relax with mindset-focused tents and experiences, including an editor favorite, deep house yoga. Or just unwind with the peaceful vibes and your boo by your side.

8. Snuggling in a Hammock

What better way to relax with your bae than snuggling up in a hammock? When you want a retreat from the music and activities, cozy on up to one of the many hammocks lounging around the grounds. Whether you want an early morning sunrise snuggle, a mid-day nap, or somewhere suspended to sleep through the night – Elements has you covered with these cozy extras.

Speaking of getting snuggly… One of my favorite things of festival culture is always camping. There’s something special about camping that creates a community, and brings festival goers closer all weekend long. Elements offers traditional camping with optional cabins and RV options, all nestled in the woods of upstate PA. Stay with one of these options to get the most of the experience and culture! This is an especially rad festival for camping, since the stages are based off of the four elements (earth, wind, fire, water) – and camping is a great way to get in touch with nature. You can also add on camping extras, like private showers and bathroom access. BTW, the festival is trying to be as environmentally friendly as possible – so know that you’re supporting green festival fun when you go to Lakewood!

9. Or Cozying Up Under the Fire Dome

Just aside the Fire Stage lies a cozy fire dome… where you can warm up with your bae if the night gives you a chill, and enjoy the music and a smooch while fire performers dance around you.

11. At the Roller Disco

I mentioned there’s a ton of stages at Elements, right? One of my favorites is the Roller Disco – a roller rink where you can borrow some skates and swirl around with your bae – to, that’s right, DISCO. Swoon. This rink had people skating all day long, plus a bubble machine and groovy tunes coming out of a gigantic larger than life boom box art installation (climbable with the DJ’s on top!).

There was also life-sized Fooz Ball, an interactive igloo with workshops from Voice Cult, tug of war, rock climbing, a fire pit perfect for making roasted marshmallows and s’mores, and many other summer-camp inspired activities to pique your interest when not getting down to the music.

12. Or Wherever the Mood Takes You!

There’s no shortage of spaces and places to explore at Elements. Wander through the grounds to find all new places to cozy up off the beaten path. One of my favorite moments from Elements last year? Laying out on massive blow-up couches and beds with my friends among the Theme Camps to get a rest from dancing during the day, and coming back back at night to relax while listening to some late-night tunes. Wherever you go at Elements – quirky, interactive spaces will invite you to play!
