When I received Aloe Cadabra’s Pina Colada Personal Lubricant, I couldn’t wait to try it. Although flavored lubes aren’t my favorite, pina colada is hard to resist. At 2.5 ounces the white bottle was small enough to stash in my nightstand drawer and the box it came in was decorative and feminine. But ultimately, while it works as a lubricant, it ended up being too runny and needed to be applied too often – and the taste wasn’t so groundbreaking after all. So, while it might be great for light sex, it couldn’t stand the test of time. I’d still recommend it as a decent, body-safe lube for gentle play.

Scent & Taste
The sweet scent of this lube was pleasant but not overbearing. It is noticeably sweet, though – so if sweet isn’t your favorite, steer clear of this lube. The flavor tasted like pina colada, but I found it to have a bit of an off-flavor. It was a bit chemical-y, with the slightest hint of pina colada, but not enough that it made me really feel like I was getting something special out of this lube
Gel-Like Texture
This lube easily squeezes out of the bottle and stays put in your hand almost like lotion, it’s not runny or watery. It is slick at first and then absorbs completely, great if you just need a helping hand to get started but can allow your body to take over from there. It was gone in a matter of minutes actually, prompting me to choose something else that would allow me to maintain some slick. I really like that this lube isn’t sticky and it doesn’t make me feel like I immediately need to get up and take a shower after a little romp. But, it’s thicker than more lubes, so if you want something thinner, you’ll have to look elsewhere.

- Needed to be re-applied almost immediately, less than six minutes
- Not suitable for rough sex or anal
Overall
This lube is more moisturizing than lubricating, and doesn’t have as strong of a taste as I was hoping for. Although I love that it’s organic, the thick texture and need to re-apply were turn offs for me. While I’d recommend another lube for most types of play, you might still like this for gentle foreplay, as it’s a body-safe alternative to other types of lube.
