From the moment you hold it in your hands, the Baci exudes all the touches of luxury you would expect from a high-end toy. Arriving beautifully nestled in its packaging, Lora DiCarlo’s newest toy is ready for play as soon as you remove the protective cover (which conveniently doubles as discreet storage) although the company recommends charging it for one hour before use to get the most power and longevity from the toy. With its gorgeous cupcake-like design and soft rose color, there’s no denying that the Baci is a beautifully made toy, but does it actually live up to its goal of mimicking the sensation of oral from a human partner? I took this brand new clitoral suction vibe for a test drive to find out.
Discreet Handheld Design
Aesthetically, the Baci could be a decorative piece in its own right, and thanks to its protective cover, you could probably leave it out on your nightstand without anyone knowing what it is. Thanks to the high-end design, the Baci looks solid at first glance, but it’s surprisingly lightweight and feels super easy to navigate. It fits easily in your hand, and the buttons have been smartly positioned to easily control sensation while avoiding accidental presses.
The back of the Baci is made out of ABS plastic, and the part that goes up against the labia and surrounds the clitoris is made out of a super smooth silky silicone. The toy measures 2.5” high by 2.5″ long, with a depth of about 3.5” – about the size of an oval-shaped peach. The magnetic charging port is located on the back, and it comes with a cord you can easily place against the magnetic nubs. As a nice little bonus, it comes with a yellow storage pouch if you want to tuck it away discreetly, although the toy itself could easily fit on your nightstand without looking like a pleasure product.
There are a few small user-friendly design touches that I really appreciated. You won’t ever be wondering how much battery you have left: The Baci has a low power warning, and indicators showing 25, 50, 75 and 100 percent charged. I absolutely love this because I always know how much playtime I have left or when it needs a charge. It also has a travel lock that keeps the toy from turning on in your bag, which makes it even more likely it will be your go-to toy to take on the road.
10 Levels of Suction Power
The Baci consists of two parts: the clitoral mouth which surrounds the glans clitoris and stimulates it with advanced airflow technology, and the clitoral stimulator which rests against and between the labia, with the ridges thrumming against the full length of the vulva. The clitoral mouth aims to “mimic the sensations of a human mouth and tongue” with its unique air-flow feature.
The sensation is very localized to the mouth of the toy, and you won’t get that rumbling feeling in your hand when you’re holding it. This focus makes it easy to get that perfect, pinpoint stimulation to the clit. There’s no direct clitoral stimulation with the Baci — instead, the clitoral mouth goes around the clit and uses that suction air motion to stimulate the clit indirectly. If you’re someone who finds the direct stimulation of traditional vibrators too intense, the Baci will give you some delightfully delicious sensations without sacrificing pleasure-filled intensity. You will feel some light thrumming along the labia, although it’s not the primary focus of the toy.
The Baci comes with a total of ten speeds. The lowest setting delivers rhythmic, hypnotic, rumbling suction at a lower speed than a traditional vibe, but it doesn’t necessarily feel less intense. At higher speeds, the speed and strength of the suction increases. It feels like a vibration, but you can tell it’s actually displacing air so when you place it on your clit, nipple, or any other erogenous zone.
The highest settings get pretty powerful, and to be honest, are on the intense side for me. My sweet spot seems to be about 3 to 7, but with this range of intensity, you can definitely find multiple settings that work for you, and ease up or increase the intensity to find your perfect pleasure zone. If you crave different patterns, this toy unfortunately doesn’t have multiple options here, just an ongoing, steady sensation – but it absolutely isn’t a deal-breaker for me.
The Experience
Turn the Baci on by holding the button on the top of the toy with the Lora DiCarlo logo. It takes about two seconds of holding to turn the travel lock on and off, a thoughtful feature that makes it a lot less likely that an accidental slip will turn it off in the heat of the moment. To adjust the intensity, there are up and down arrows on the back of the toy directly where the palm of your hand is. I used a water-based lubricant during my test run to get the whole area wet and help the vibration travel. (Don’t use silicone-based lube because it could degrade the material since the toy itself is silicone.) With the addition of lube, you can really feel the suction sensations travel across the most sensitive areas of your erogenous zones.
The clitoral mouth is designed to replicate the sensation of the mouth and tongue over the clit, surrounding it and using it’s advanced airflow technology to mimic the suction sensation of oral sex. While many partners might use too much suction on your most sensitive bits, I love that I could adjust the intensity to give me those light suctions sensations without an overwhelming and out of the blue strong suction (which seems to be common with partners). The clitoral mouth, of course, can’t replicate the motions of a tongue and lips completely, but that thrumming suction sensation totally controlled at the touch of a button to find the perfect rhythm is a welcomed change in a toy, and allows you to get in the flow of what works best for your body without any switch-ups mid-play.
The clitoral stimulator is designed to rest against the vulva, pressed between the inner and outer labia, and the ridges of the stimulator will thrum against the parts of the clitoris below the surface. The sensation is light and buzzy, and personally, I would need something more rumbly to get that deep clitoral sensation. Still, the two types of clitoral stimulation combined gave me an amazing sensation that left me breathless even without any vibration at all.
I love toys that give you a bit of freedom and flexibility in how you use them. The Baci certainly falls into this category, and it’s easy to choose your own comfort level. The manual recommends spreading your labia for stronger clitoral sensation, but you can explore how much of your vulva you want to be moved away from the mouth of the toy and adjust how much of your clit is exposed to the sensation. The intensity is determined by how exposed you are to the toy: You can expose your clit and pull up your clitoral hood, or leave it down to adjust the pressure and intensity of the sensation. Experimentation is key, and you can definitely explore different ways to hold the toy or position it against your vulva and clit to find the right position.
The Baci takes about two hours to reach full charge, and a full battery lasts for an hour, which is a great amount of time to play to get in a session or two before recharging. You should charge it for at least one hour before first use, and you can wash it with a silicone-safe toy cleaner or mild soap and water. Definitely don’t put it in the dishwasher because it does have electric parts.
Side Note: I don’t think I’ve ever complimented an instruction booklet in a review before, but I was pleasantly surprised by the level of anatomical detail in the Baci’s manual. The diagrams show how the clit goes deeper than just the external glans of the clitoris. In fact, It’s a whole system that goes back into your body and this toy is designed to get that deep stimulation below the surface. The whole idea is to encourage you to learn about and explore your anatomy, always experimenting with what feels good.
