Lube is absolutely necessary for pleasurable sex, whether solo or with a partner. When it comes to lube, water-based is almost always best. That’s because it’s compatible with all toys and condoms. I was excited to try Jimmyjane’s Organic Liquid Personal Moisturizer. With elegant yet discreet packaging, this lube is almost perfect.

Packaging

The packaging of this lube is super discreet. I tried the full size; at 4.2 fluid ounces, it isn’t airplane travel safe. However, the bottle is sturdy and elegant, with a hard glass feel to it and a square plastic cap. Simply remove the cap to access the pump, which makes for user-friendly and fast application of the lube. Most pumps require a little bit of priming and extra pumping for first time use, as this one did. Again, like with any pump lotion or lubricant, a little excess can collect around the opening of the pump. Removal is easy, but might get in the way of a good time if you don’t take care of it before play.

My only problem with the lubricant is in the design of the packaging. It’s aesthetically pleasing and the pump is super user-friendly. However, the plastic straw that accesses the lube for the pump does not reach the bottom of the container. I worry that as this one empties out, I’ll be left with about an ounce of extra lubricant at the bottom that will go unused. Perhaps someone with a better grip than me will be able to remove the top of the pump to dump the extra lube out, but that’s not the case for my situation. I find this super frustrating. Why pay for that last ounce if I’ll never use it?

In Use

The Jimmyjane Organic Liquid Personal Moisturizer is slick and smooth. It’s not remotely sticky and was great for solo-play. Again, water-based lubricants work great with any toy material, including silicone, and condoms. The only problem with water-based lubes is they can ware away quickly. But when you need to add more, the pump design of this bottle is especially useful for quick, easy access. No flipping off a lid and trying to squeeze a bottle with your slippery hands here! Simply pump however much you need and get right back to it.

I also like that the ingredients are organic and that I recognize most of them by name. Of course, if you know you’re allergic or sensitive to any of these ingredients, this lube isn’t for you.

Overall

The bottle design is oh-so-pretty and discreet. If you leave it out on your nightstand and your kids or a friend comes into the room, they won’t immediately think it’s anything other than lotion or perfume. However, the straw that connects the pump to the lube just isn’t big enough for the bottle. Better bottle design would make this the perfect water-based lubricant! Despite this, I still think that this product is fair for the quality and price, and Jimmyjane Organic Liquid Personal Moisturizer is definitely remaining in my bedside drawer.
