One of the sexiest types of stimulation is that of the mind, which is why erotica’s popularity continues to rise. Intended to excite the imagination, these works of art are perfect for getting in the mood, whether alone or with a partner. As such, I’m always looking to expand my library of erotic novels. So, I was excited for the opportunity to receive Best Women’s Erotica of the Year, Volume 3.

Rachel Kramer Bussel does a wonderful job taking twenty-one of the top torrid writings from the past year and compiling them in one place for a sensual literary journey. While each story presents a different scenario or fantasy, one thing is always the same… A female takes on the leading role, embracing her passions and desires in an uninhibited, unapologetic way.

My Thoughts

At 245 pages, this book is an easy read, and the capturing stories that fill it only add to this. The main characters set the stage for the sexual escapades they crave, with each narrative having a unique storyline – some following a dramatic build-up and others getting straight to the point. They also take on a variety of kinks and themes, like the nonhuman roleplay in “Demon Purse,” gender-bending relationships and encounters in “Romance and Drag,” and steamy sex between senior citizens in “The Follow-Through,” that aren’t commonly explored.

There was something I enjoyed about each story from Best Women’s Erotica of the Year, Volume 3, but a few stories stood out as my favorites. I absolutely appreciated Sophie’s love of books and the feelings they can stir from deep within in “Bibliophile,” and took pleasure in the unfolding of a threesome dream come true in “Red Satin Ribbons” and the unexpected rendezvous in “Weightless.” Role reversal and cross-dressing made “Romance and Drag” an intriguing and enjoyable read, while my domme fantasies were satisfied in “Making It Feel Right.” A perfect blend of romance and raunch, this book proved to be titillating and a continuous page turner.

Overall

Created from the works of several esteemed female erotica authors, these stories are sure to bring some of your most lustful fantasies to life, taking them even further. The relatable stories evoke arousal while taking on an array of topics often left out in the mainstream. From sensual lovemaking to hot and heavy fucking, Best Women’s Erotica of the Year has something for every gal – whether straight, lesbian, heteroflexible or bi – looking to embrace her sexuality, one orgasm after another.
