When it comes to accessible, affordable adult toys, California Exotics is the first name that comes to mind. I got my first toy from them years ago, and they are still always worth a look when I don’t have a lot of bucks to spend but am in the market for something new. This time around, I was looking for a flexible, insertible g-spot toy, and L’Amour Romance fit the bill! It was a quality, inexpensive toy that would be perfect for any g-spot beginner (or anyone who wants an inexpensive toy for internal play).
Note: This toy is no longer available! We recommend the Evolved Seduction or LELO Mona 2 instead.
Features & Design
The unique periwinkle color and ultra-flexibility of this toy are what immediately drew me in. The bottom of the shaft is less flexible, clearly housing the battery compartment and controls, but the entire rest of it is about as malleable as “the real thing” and shaped similarly as well. With a length of about 6.5″ and girth of 1.5″, L’Amour Romance reminds me in shape and size of a penis, only it vibrates, which makes it better, obviously.
The semi-realistic vibe definitely made this toy perfect for internal stimulation. The girth was pleasant without being uncomfortable, while the rounded, almost curved head is perfect for G-spot stimulation. The give of the material makes L’Amour perfect for thrusting and hitting that sweet spot just right! Finally, the soft material felt fabulous both internally and externally and was easy to clean with both soap and water and my favorite toy cleaner!
Power & Vibration
L’Amour Romance runs on two AA batteries. Twist off the bottom to place them inside, then tightly twist the cap back on to keep them in place. I wasn’t very careful with the placement, and at one point the batteries loosened out of the compartment and the toy wouldn’t turn on, which was definitely a literal buzzkill.
The base of the toy contains the controls, which light up red when the toy is on. The power button turns L’Amour off and with a simple touch, while the button with the wave design is in charge of the controls. Admittedly, this isn’t a toy for power queens. I love power for internal toys, and L’Amour just didn’t cut it for me. That being said, externally the buzzy vibrations along the shaft felt really awesome on my clit, so I did get some enjoyment out of the vibes. (And back to the flexibility – though this toy isn’t intended as a dildo, in my opinion, it makes a great, affordable one, vibrations on or off.)
The vibration modes are as follows:
- Lightest, steady vibration
- Light steady vibration
- Mid-level steady vibration
- Half wave (ascending)
- Fast waves
- Three quick, light pulses followed by a strong, longer pulse
The variety of vibration settings are definitely enjoyable, and there’s something for everyone who likes light to mid-level buzzy vibes.
Pros & Cons
- Variety of vibration patterns
- Batteries are a bit fussy
- Not for power queens
While L’Amour Romance is definitely best for beginners and those who prefer lighter to mid level vibrations, there are so many things about it I love. The flexibility makes this toy really stand out to me, and I definitely have plans to keep it in my toy box. If you’re looking for a new affordable toy or if you’re a beginner looking to experience internal stimulation, definitely check out California Exotics and L’Amour Romance!
