sona 2 cruise review sex toy

I LOVED the original LELO SONA Cruise (read my review here!), so when I found out LELO updated their unique oral sex simulator, meant to specifically target your clit with clitoral suction, I knew I had to get my hands on it. The LELO SONA 2 Cruise is the updated version of the original toy. It still has all of the same great features, but packs an additional punch: SenSonic technology, which stimulates even more of the clitoris than before. LELO has set the bar for pleasure again with this amazing clitoral stimulator! This updated toy also features new Cruise Control technology, which offers a continuous, hassle-free experience by keeping consistent pressure without dropping its power when pressed against the body. No more worrying about losing your rhythm, as it does all the work for you. I absolutely loved what’s new with the LELO SONA 2 Cruise versus the SONA Cruise, and would highly recommend it!

Sona 2 Cruise Out of the Box

The LELO SONA 2 Cruise looks exactly like the original SONA Cruise. Mine is hot pink, whereas my original is a pale pink, so I can distinguish them by color, but that’s about it. The buttons and controls are exactly the same, with an additional rippled design on the metal backing. The SONA 2 Cruise is made entirely of silicone where it counts, though the back is shiny metal.

I was ready to play right away, but my toy wasn’t. I needed to charge it, so I paired the USB chord with a charging block and plugged it in at the base of the toy. The port is exposed, but this toy is still 100% waterproof. The SONA 2 Cruise is also very ergonomic and easy to hold, just like its predecessor.

Sona 2 Cruise in Use

To turn on the SONA 2 Cruise, press the center button. The buttons are near the base of the toy. To switch between the modes, press the center button again. The modes are as follows:

  • Steady vibration/sucking
  • Pulse
  • Fast pulse
  • Faster pulse
  • Rev up
  • Waves
  • Slow waves
  • Fast waves

You can increase or decrease the vibration and sucking power of the toy by pressing the “+” and “-” buttons, just like with most toys. The SONA 2 Cruise works by creating a suction effect, and it does feel a lot like oral sex. In addition, LELO has a great feature that they put to use with their Cruise toys. Even at the highest setting, the SONA Cruise and SONA 2 Cruise are always holding back just a little bit. When you press the SONA 2 Cruise harder against your body, it kicks in an extra 20% of power, giving you what you need exactly when you need it. This feature is called cruise control, and I absolutely love it.

SONA 2 Cruise Versus SONA Cruise

The SONA Cruise and the SONA 2 Cruise are practically identical. They both have the same ergonomic design. They’re made of the same premium silicone to softly embrace your clit. If you have them in the same color the only visual difference between them is that rippled design on the back of the SONA 2 Cruise. Even in use the similarities are undeniable with both featuring LELO’s signature cruise control.

So what’s new? With the SONA 2 Cruise, LELO offers another awesome feature, called SenSonic Technology. When I used the SONA 2 Cruise, this new feature is 100% what pushed me over the top. The toy emits and absorbs sonic waves to transmit them to your body (in particular, your clit, where it’s located) and can do that without even touching your clit directly. To me, this felt like the awesome sucking power I expected from the SONA Cruise, with the added touch of deep yet gentle vibrations. I was shocked by how obvious this new technology was. It’s absolutely amazing, and makes this toy truly special! With this sensational new tech, LELO also squeezed in a few extra settings. The SONA Cruise has 8 different modes but the SONA 2 Cruise has 12 modes, giving you even more sensations to explore.

Care & Cleaning

Like any silicone toy, wash the SONA 2 Cruise with antibacterial soap and warm water, and then pat dry gently or let air dry. You can also use your favorite toy cleaner. Don’t keep it near other silicone toys, because they can wear away at one another upon contact. The SONA 2 Cruise is completely waterproof, so you can fully submerge it when cleaning.

Is the LELO SONA 2 Cruise Good?

Oh, yes! This upgrade to the original toy is amazing. With innovative features and new technology, this toy truly does allow you to ride the waves of pleasure. I am obsessed with my LELO SONA 2 Cruise. The fast and gentle suction-style sonic waves, coupled with an upgraded softer, deeper, and bigger silicone mouth opening, are truly next-level. You get the same signature sleek and handheld design of the original SONA 2, but with Cruise Control features for when you need it to take the wheel and drive your orgasm home. The Cruise control and updated SenSonic technology combine for a truly orgasmic experience that I never will forget… and will come back to again and again.
