What sets the Vibratex Mystic Wand apart from other Hitachi-style vibrators is the simple fact that it’s battery powered. Not being tethered to the wall is certainly a turn-on when it comes to playing with a new sex toy. Instead of a plug to power this wand, the toy runs on four AA batteries. While I’m glad that the Mystic Wand isn’t a plug-in toy, I’m usually wary about battery-operated vibrators. Sometimes I can feel the batteries clunking around in the battery chamber. This definitely wasn’t the case with the Mystic Wand. I untwisted the bottom to place the batteries in their compartment, resealed the device, and completely forgot that batteries were even involved!
There are three level of vibration and three vibration patterns that can be accessed using the extremely user-friendly interface. There are only two buttons on the toy – the power button, which quickly turns the vibrator on and off, and the function button, which switches between modes. The vibration patterns and powers are as follows:
- Mid-level, steady vibration
- Strong steady vibe
- Strongest steady vibe
- Pulse
- Two short pulses followed by a long pulse
- Half wave, building in intensity
The only downside to these strong vibrations is that they are loud. While the Mystic Wand’s size, appearance, and accompanying travel bag make it fabulous for toting around, the noise level is the opposite of discreet. It’s certainly a travel buddy, but not a toy to play with if you have nosy roommates.
Fabulous Design
The flexible neck of this toy also sets it apart from its cousins. With a smooth silicone feel, the head of the Mystic Wand can move to best suit you, your anatomy, and your orgasm. I’ve already described the user-friendly control panel and battery insertion, and the non-intimidating feel only continues. While the models that aren’t pink are certainly a bit utilitarian looking, the body-safe plastic handle of the toy feels comfortable in my palm while the top of the toy feels great on my body. Better yet, you can bring this magical wand into the shower with you and combine it with water-based lubes.
While I went into playing with this toy worried that it was going to be a knock-off of sorts, once turning it on I was immediately reminded of Vibratex’s great brand. The Mystic Wand is anything but a knock-off and definitely packs a punch! I’ve yet to experience a glitch with it and this massager has definitely earned its place as my new favorite external vibe.

Love your review – answers every one of my questions. I love that this is a compact and cute alternative to the typical wands, just wish it was rechargeable rather than going through the battery rigmarole every time. That’d obviously up the price though so, can’t have it all!
